Welcome to my place on the web

My long delayed website makeover is finally under way in earnest. Correction; make that in "fits and starts". The old design predated such web technologies as Cascading Style Sheets and was very unwieldy and labor intensive to update. With this makeover I'm hoping to be able to better organize and present my photos as well as explore my "new" old hobby of vintage high end audio. However, now that I've started it, I'm amazed at how much stuff I have on the web that needs to be reorganized. It's going to take me more time than I originally thought. The links to my photos are on the left. Most of them don't work as yet, but a few do. I'll put asterisks by the ones that have some content until they all do. In fact, all the content that was originally up there is still there, but it's going to take some time to wire everything up again.

I have also created a companion blog to explore this new phenomenon of blogging. Although it wasn't called such at the time, in retrospect my original site was part "blog", travelogue, and photo gallery. For now it's something of an experiment I may end up combining the two when all is said and done. If you want to leave me a message or comment on anything, for now, just bop over to the blog.

I'll also be exploring other web technologies like Microsoft Silverlight and Adobe Flash and Shockwave. I'm also going to be experimenting with different ways to organize and update all my photos and other content. My original website started out as equal parts photo gallery and personal blog. As I experimented with Flash for presenting my photos my method of blogging about my photos no longer worked.

However with this makeover I am going to create a separate blog. Where I can expound on my hobbies, my toys, my projects, my challenges, my life, and whatever tickles my fancy. I also intend make a way for vistors to leave comments.
