I'm keeping busy doing....

Despite my advanced age :-) I am actively involved in a number of projects, all of them technology related. I came to Denver in the fall of 2005 on a renewable energy project which I had been promoting and involved in since the winter of 2001. It was built around a technology that held out the promise of converting any kind of carbonaceous material to a synthetic natural gas or "syngas". The syngas could then be catalytically converted to liquid transportation fuel like ethanol or synthetic diesel, or burned in a gas turbine or reciprocating engine generator to produce electricity and process heat. If you can't wait till I update this site to learn about the technology, you can go here for more information.

Then the recession happened. I think most people don't appreciate that the current economic downturn we're experiencing (2009 - 2010) really began in December of 2007. Those of us with renewable energy projects on the boards are acutely aware. That was when all the funding dried up. Nevertheless, I think the tide has turned. We have just gotten the first funding for our project and starting March 1, 2010, I'll be back into it.

other things

One of my buddies was awarded a contract by the Taxi and Limousine Commission to provide advertising and informational content to go on video monitors in the back of certain New York Taxi's. He remembered my "geekiness" and brought me in to build the website which you can see here. I'm also processing all the video for the taxi dispatcher and building another website where they will also be streaming online. Much more about that in future postings. It's certainly been a fun project and I'll be traveling to pretty cool places to oversee video production. First on the boards is a trip to Curacao and Aruba.
